value. quality care. compassion.
This practice is unique in many ways. It is the place that many doctors and therapists send patients when nothing else has worked. It is the place where patients with vision problems that are associated with concussions, traumatic brain injuries, stroke and neurological dysfunction come to learn the best ways to treat their problems and how to integrate services with other professionals for the maximum visual outcomes.
It is a place where children with learning-related vision problems, autism, neurological and developmental problems come together to set their visual development on the right course for future success in academics and activities of daily living.
Dr. Vincent Vicci is a founding father of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, Intl. who practices the tenants of proper visual development and rehabilitation as set forth by this international organization. He and his associate, Dr. Nathalia Broderick will combine forces to provide the best vision rehabilitation program for all patients that have been referred to our practice after life-altering events or developmental anomalies have altered their future directions and orientations. Although for 37 years we have provided developmental vision therapy recommendations to our patients, weekly in-office programs are not the sole direction of this practice.
We believe in the utilization of developmental lenses and prisms as well as working together with families and therapists to move vision development and rehabilitation in the right direction. Vision is not a separate issue from the rest of the body. It is the single most important mode by which we receive the information from our environment but it must always be looked-at in context with the rest of the body. How does vision affect posture, walking, reaching, grasping, etc.? How does vision affect reading, writing, spelling and copying?
Then, again, we must realize that this practice has, for 37 years, provided unequalled vision care for those of us who are fortunate enough not to have had traumatic or developmental problems. Who wants to hit the tennis or baseball better? Drive at night? Read more comfortably? Maybe all of the above! We are grateful to so many of our patients that have been with us for many, many years. We always try to provide comprehensive functional vision evaluations as well as comprehensive ocular health examinations for all who enter.
The use of the most modern equipment is a “must” in our evaluation and treatment orientations. We take the treatment of glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye syndrome and retinal problems very seriously. We work with surgeons who will share our thoughts on the proper direction for cataract surgery to take and make sure that we do not hesitate to work together with retinal specialist for any concerns that occur in that area. We welcome new patients to our office as well as continue to provide our best to those of you that have been loyal for so many years.
